What does it mean?
The air cargo transport document recording the carriage agreement between shipper and carrier. It identifies the shipment, routing and handling information; unlike a negotiable ocean bill of lading, it is not a document of title.
In practice
The receiver uses the AWB number to identify an arriving air shipment.
Before requesting a quote
For an air freight request, share the actual packed dimensions and weight of each package. Product characteristics and any time or temperature requirements affect acceptance and routing. Tell the team about batteries, liquids or other handling considerations before confirming the shipping plan.
- Packed dimensions and gross weight of each package
- Product description and special handling information
