What does it mean?
A unit of volume used to describe the space occupied by cargo. For a rectangular package, multiply length, width and height measured in meters; for multiple packages, add their individual volumes.
In practice
A package measuring 1 m by 1 m by 1 m occupies 1 CBM before any additional handling allowance.
Before requesting a quote
A clear shipment plan starts with consistent information. Describe what you are moving, where it will be collected and who will receive it. Separating the transport stages helps you compare quotations with the same scope and identify any handling that must be coordinated separately.
- Origin, destination and receiving contact
- Cargo description, package count and dimensions
- Gross weight and preferred shipping dates
