What does it mean?
Planning and coordination of the movement, storage and delivery of goods. Logistics connects transportation, inventory, documentation and information so a shipment can reach its destination with the agreed conditions.
In practice
An exporter coordinates warehouse receiving, transport and delivery as one logistics plan.
Before requesting a quote
A clear shipment plan starts with consistent information. Describe what you are moving, where it will be collected and who will receive it. Separating the transport stages helps you compare quotations with the same scope and identify any handling that must be coordinated separately.
- Origin, destination and receiving contact
- Cargo description, package count and dimensions
- Gross weight and preferred shipping dates
